NEWTON, N.J. – October 11, 2026 – Superior Shower Doors, the Newton-based glass company operating as SSD Glass, has extended its service area into Bergen County, bringing high-end frameless shower door fabrication and installation to homeowners across northeastern New Jersey.
Homeowners looking for a frameless glass company with in-house fabrication now have a regional source for enclosures built to the exact dimensions of the bathroom instead of pulled from stock sizes. The expansion covers Hackensack, Paramus, Ridgewood, Teaneck, Fort Lee and surrounding municipalities.
The company fabricates single door, sliding, 90-degree, door-and-panel and neo-angle enclosures along with splash panels, with glass available clear, frosted, tinted or patterned and hardware finished in chrome, brushed nickel or matte black. It now books custom shower doors and enclosures in Bergen County for remodels, additions and new construction.
The county’s housing stock drove the decision to expand. Bergen County holds a high share of older and renovated homes, where bathroom openings are rarely square and off-the-shelf enclosures leave gaps that leak and collect mildew. Each project begins with an in-home measurement, and every unit is cut and assembled before crews return to install it, a visit typically completed in a few hours.
Frameless systems rely on thicker tempered glass and minimal hardware instead of metal channel framing, which keeps more of the tile work visible and gives the enclosure its open, high-end look. Because no frame hides the panel edges, dimensions have to be exact, which is why the company measures every opening on site before any glass is cut.
“Frameless glass only looks simple when the measuring is done right,” said Michael A. Lawlor of Superior Shower Doors. “An out-of-square opening will defeat a stock door every time. We build the enclosure to the opening the homeowner actually has, and we stand behind both the glass and the installation. Bergen County homeowners should not have to drive out of the area or settle for close enough.”
Superior Shower Doors has fabricated and installed custom glass since 2003, and completed work carries a warranty covering manufacturing defects and installation. The Bergen County debut follows recent service-area expansions into Passaic and Hunterdon counties, where SSD Glass introduced the same measure-and-build process earlier this year.
