The patent, granted in 2026, protects the manufacturing method used to produce RIFT’s lightweight carbon fiber camper structure.The patented process converts flat composite panels into a sealed, insulated monocoque structure designed to reduce trailer weight while maintaining durability and strength.
Carbon Lite Trailers has spent several years developing its RIFT Utility Camper and preparing the product for broader production. The company reports continued inquiries from domestic wholesale RV dealers, international distributors, and customers seeking lightweight camping options.
The RIFT Utility Camper weighs approximately 500 pounds, allowing it to be towed by many passenger vehicles that have limited towing capacity. Carbon Lite Trailers developed the product in response to a market increasingly influenced by smaller vehicles, electric vehicles, and demand for lightweight recreational equipment.
To address current interest and pending production needs, Carbon Lite Trailers is preparing to transition from its research and development stage into expanded manufacturing. The company’s current production plan calls for scaling output to approximately 10 to 20 units per month while building relationships with wholesale dealers and international distribution partners.
