On the afternoon of June 5 at 3:30, the legendary Golden Hall of the Musikverein in Vienna witnessed yet another triumph for Hong Kong’s twelve-year-old violin prodigy, Sherry Tse. Born in Moscow in 1963, Kirill Rodin began learning the cello at the age of seven and graduated from the Moscow Conservatory. In 1986, he won the Gold Medal and First Prize in the Cello Division of the prestigious Tchaikovsky International Competition, launching an international career that has taken him to more than fifty countries. Today, he serves as Professor of Cello at the Moscow Conservatory, soloist with the Moscow State Philharmonic, and a member of both the Tchaikovsky String Quartet and the Brahms Trio.
