This [book] is a culmination of my education as a Ph.D. behaviorist and top performer observing what top performers have in common for over 50 years…I was very pleased to learn of my Book Excellence Award in Leadership,” says Dr. Pete Andersen. A bestselling, multi-award-winning author, Andersen is committed to offering people simple and practical tools to reconstruct their mindset and behaviors, change their responses to life’s challenges, and chart a course to a more abundant, purposeful life. “When I was a K-12 school superintendent and former coach of All-American swimmers…I learned that those who motivate also care to learn about the personal needs and values of their students and families. This created the need for me to shine a light on intrinsic motivation methods and skills.

Rich with insights and life-changing exercises, the book shares Andersen’s robust methodology for personal and professional transformation. The book introduces readers to The Triad Performance Improvement System or The Triad. The Triad is described as a set of secret skills that revolutionize the way you think and act, so you can attain top performer status. These skills are: increasing one’s general awareness, enhancing one’s self-evaluation, and using targeted, reward-based reinforcement. “There is a reason why there are top performers…top performers are both intrinsically motivated and self-directed…the idea is to learn and model what they do to improve personal performance in less time,” says Andersen. The book explores the Triad in detail, urging readers to spend time developing a solid understanding of their own needs and motivations, to assess their own performance, and to develop incremental goals that will allow them to make improvements through a series of small victories. In this way, the book puts readers back into the driver’s seats of their own lives by showing them that their choices, decisions, and actions determine their destiny.

With years of wisdom distilled into an accessible, profound, and engaging book, Andersen presents a revolutionary way of transforming current leadership practices to allow individuals to achieve a life of joy, purpose and impact.
