John Larsen, CEO of Weave Workforce, presents the benefits of workforce optimization at A2.AI Conference

Ann Arbor, MI – Weave Workforce CEO, John Larsen, was invited to present at A2.AI, Ann Arbor’s Applied AI Conference, on September 23. This year’s event was held in a virtual format and focused on how machine learning and applied artificial intelligence enable businesses to make better decisions with their data. Larsen’s presentation, Harmonizing Workforce Schedules with Uncertain Demand, provided an overview of the Weave Workforce software, an effective solution to staffing challenges inherent in many service industry businesses.

Many businesses face ongoing struggles with overstaffing and understaffing. Businesses may find themselves with periods of overstaffing, resulting in excessive labor costs, as well as understaffing, which can result in negative customer experiences and frustrated employees. Larsen presented a case study of one of Weave Workforce’s clients, Belle Tire, demonstrating the measurable results seen by applying Weave Workforce to hourly service business staffing. Larsen also shared how the team has taken learnings from the continued Weave Workforce use by Belle Tire, and implemented a new SaaS solution and optimization framework.

Through these improvements, Weave Workforce AI-based employee scheduling software allows businesses to achieve workforce optimization tailored to their specific needs and circumstances.

In his presentation, Larsen further demonstrates Weave Workforce’s clear and comprehensive metrics dashboard, algorithm-generated schedules to align with the forecast, and detailed daily views of employee schedules consistent with demand. Citing the Belle Tire case study, Larsen shows how the AI-based employee scheduling software saved the company 14% on hourly labor costs. This result demonstrates how Weave Workforce can reduce labor costs and increase productivity.

“To achieve the desired performance parameters, we want to match the workforce to the workload. This is done through forecasting, staffing, and scheduling,” said Larsen. “Of course, AI is uniquely suited for accurate forecasting, given the breadth and depth of data to be considered. Then applying algorithms to generate suitable shift schedules and assign employees, makes it practical and easy for managers to implement the recommendations.”

The full recording of Larsen’s presentation can be found in the Resources section on the Weave Workforce website. The website also offers registration for a complimentary Discovery Session to get an in-depth understanding of the operational benefits that can be achieved through workforce optimization with Weave Workforce.
